Bi-Racial

Are Bi-Racial children treated different for being different? My daughter has straight hair and green/gray eyes and thankfully she hasnt gotten picked on for being bi-racial.  I do feel that some children get bullied for being bi-racial.  What are your thoughts on this?

  1. I feel like kids do get picked on for being Bi-Racial but it shouldn't be like that because we are all one. We are all humans, but just from different places in the world.

    1. Exactly, we are all humans and perhaps some education regarding culture diversity can help alleviate this issue. Do you think that educating our children from an early start can help lower the rate of children getting bullied?

  2. I've never understood why children from inter-racial families are not accepted by either race. In my mind, both races should embrace these children. Anyone have any thoughts on why society is like this?

    1. We live in a Society that is very judgemental, we all are, its nature. What we have to do is teach our children to be kind to one another, to love eachother for what we are regarding race and culture.

    2. I hope that this new generation that we are raising right now is more open minded to differences than recent generations. I think that over the next 10,20,30 years, there will be a huge increase in the number of mixed race families. I hope that all of these new inter-racial families won't have to go through what today's children are experiencing.

  3. I think people use it to protect their own identity and validate themselves(because to some extent we are all nervous that we don't fit in). It is bullying and it is sad. On the bright side I believe that the younger generations are alot more open minded than our parents.

    1. Culture gets passed down from one generation to another. Sometimes all we know is what we are taught by our families. We learned whats right and wrong from our parents, but spending numerous hours in a school setting children can learn whats right and wrong there as well. School is a big impact in our young generation, so if we can teach them that just because we are different doesnt mean that its wrong nor weird.
